We've been having so much fun with our students taking our Rainbow Fish seminar! Our P2 level (3 year old class) student Taichi has been doing so well! He is learning things like different sea creature names, like fish, octopus and starfish, different adjectives like beautiful, wise, and shiny and so much more! He is working hard learning new sentences and enjoying making his rainbow fish craft.

This week, we had the Rainbow Fish Summer seminar with one of our Baby C students.

For those of you who do not have classes this week, don't forget to practice at home! Using English outside of the classroom will both keep your mind engaged with the English you have learned, and also help you feel more confident and comfortable speaking.
For our younger students, parents encourage them to name things like colors, animals, and bugs in English. Have them practice counting or ask them how they are feeling.
For our older students, parents encourage them to speak in simple sentences about the tasks they are doing, whether it is simple, like making their bed, or more complex like talking about the shows or books they like in English.
Practicing using English in practical ways, or by talking about things that highly interest you makes learning both fun and useful. Don't let your skills get rusty this summer, practice! You can do it!

P5 - Superlatives! Changing more to most and -er to -est
This week in our P5 classes we are learning about superlative form! Last week we learned "more" and the "-er" ending, which is the comparable form.
Examples:
Dangerous --> More dangerous
Safe --> Safer
It is called comparable form as you use the form to compare two things. For example, who has a more dangerous job, a lumberjack or a surgeon?
But this week we are stepping up to superlative form with "most" and the "-est" ending. Superlative form is used to show that something has the greatest or worst quality of all the things of the same type. For example, I think the movie star has the most exciting job. In this context we are talking about jobs.
It can be a little challenging to make this switch as first, so practice at home so it becomes more comfortable. You can do it!

P4 - Practicing adjectives with -er ending
This week in our P4 classes we are continuing to practice adjectives in relation to athletes!
We will be turning the previous adjectives we learned into their -er form
Heavy -> Heavier
Fast -> Faster
Slow -> Slower
Light -> Lighter
Strong -> Stronger
Weaker -> Weaker
We use the -er form when describing something in relation to something else.
Example:
A: Who is slower, the soccer player or the archer?
B: The archer is slower.
Try practicing at home to get more used to the feel of the words, you can do it!

☀︎☁︎ Aside from the interactive seminar, all other seminars are private! This makes for an excellent place for students to have one on one practice with their teacher, lessons can be easily catered to suit the individual needs of the student, work on a craft/create a painting/create their own fact book over the course of the lessons, and expand their English skills on a topic we normally wouldn't cover in our normal day to day lessons. We would love to teach these lessons and have worked hard to create plans that ensure the lessons are both educational and fun! We highly recommend enrolling for your student to have the chance to learn something totally new and continue to hone their English skills over the summer!
