Where, What, When, Why and How!

Hello Everyone I hope you have had a great week

Today we are going to discuss the common question words and how to use them to practice English.

They are very important to learn as you will have to use them in every conversation. They are also very useful for helping you understand the question you are being asked. If you know someone that speaks English consider asking them questions to see how they will respond.

Here are some common questions you can ask.

Who is your favourite (sports team)?

What (sports team) do you support?

How often do you (watch football)?

When do you (watch football)?

Why do you (like this team)?

Another way to ask is to make a statement. If you are familiar with asking questions then making statements will make you sound more fluent. For example;

You look like a Man United fan.

You like Liverpool, right?

I take it you watch football a lot.

Weekends are the best times to watch football.

Real Madrid has an awesome line up.

You can get the same information with these statements as with the questions above, the difference being that the interaction will feel smoother and more native like.

The great thing about questions is that you can ask them to yourself. Making them easy to practice alone.

Thats all for today I hope you have a splendid week!

Halloween Traditions!

Good morning everyone! How is your day going?
Are you excited for the upcoming Halloween seminars at Amity?
If you are, here are some Halloween traditions that we will learn soon.

1. Carving Jack` Lantern- The term Jack o` Lantern is said to have originated from Irish folktale
about a man name "Stingy Jack". In order to keep the "Stingy Jack", ghost and and evil spirits away,
people started to carve scary faces on pumpkins and
started calling them Jack o` Lantern.

2. Spooky Costumes- This must be one of the
greatest part of Halloween. In this tradition people
compete or put a great effort in making the scariest
costumes. However, some people also prefer to stay
unique and cute and usually chooses to wear
costumes of famous Tv, or cartoon characters.

3. Trick or Treating- The most anticipated part of
Halloween but do you know why people say trick
or treat? Trick is an action one makes in order to
deceive someone while treat basically means snack.
In conclusion people say it to ask if owner of the
house wants to be pranked or not.
