The reason why American spelling and British spelling is so different.
Certain American words are spelled differently to that of its British counter part. Words such as colour and color, and the reason behind this is capitalism. In America, during the early stages of print, print shops started charging by the letter. The cost of ink and paper had gone up and people were looking for ways to make money. So Americans started removing the letter `u` from some words to make them essentially cheaper to print.

`Break a leg ` is a term used by actors and dancers all over the world. It actually means the opposite of how it sounds. In theatres there is a superstition, you are not allowed to wish people good luck because that is bad luck. Break a leg is used as a way to avoid this superstition, you avoid any encouragement and instead say the opposite, this will bring good luck to the theatre and production.
Did you hear about tofu trucks in Japan
Today I learned a very interesting fact, did you know that Japan does not have ice cream trucks but instead Japanese people have tofu trucks. They are sometimes carts that move around the neighborhood and sell tofu but can also be trucks. These tofu distributors often play a distinct song, much like the ice cream man song, that announces that they are in your area. Japanese people are usually very happy to see tofu trucks as this practice has died out in modern times. This is a much healthier protein rich alternative to ice cream and I would love to buy tofu from a tofu cart .

Rainy Season
It seems that the rainy season is almost here. Do you like the rain? I enjoy the sound of rain at night, it's very relaxing. I don't enjoy having to walk somewhere when it's raining however. I hope there won't be many typhoons this year.
Did you know that in America we have what are called 'ice cream trucks'. They're basically vans that drive around neighborhoods and play music to attract people to come buy ice cream. There are some varieties of treats that can only be bought from an ice cream truck. It was always exciting to hear the music in the distance on a hot Summer day.
