Lovely saying that illustrates how one should take the hardships given and make something good out of it. Its an idea that we are not what we are given but rather what we choose to do with it.
'Not all that glitters is Gold.'
Looks can be deceiving. Not everything that, at first glance, seems appealing is good for you. Its always better to take a second or even third glance. What seems like gold at first glance might just be fools gold, worth nothing.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
Wonderful saying used when dealing with stubborn people. The idea is that you can help a person, provide them with all the resources to help but if they are unwilling to help themselves, nothing will change. Improvements must be voluntary and it is as difficult forcing a person to get help as it is forcing a horse to drink water when it doesn't want water.
'Don`t count all your chickens before they hatch.'
This phrase is usually used when someone is getting ahead of themselves, or celebrating an event that has not yet happened. The term used literally, is linked to chicken farmers that would count how many chickens they could have by the amount of eggs that they had. Not all eggs become chickens, don't celebrate too early.
Time heals all wounds.
Common English phrase used to uplift grieving or hurt people. Usually associated with funerals and the thought that grief passes with time.
