Cicadas in America and Japan
Cicadas are a type of bug that comes out in the summer both in Japan and in America!
There are a few differences between the two!
For example, in Japan Cicadas come out every summer but in america there are types of Cicadas that spend 13 years or 17 years underground before hatching in the summer!
This summer is special in America because both the 13 year and 17 year cicadas will hatch at the same time! This means there will be trillions of Cicadas in America this year!
In the entire world there are about 2,000 different species of Cicadas and Japan has around 30 of them! On the North American continent there are around 190 different species of Cicadas!
