Slang of the Day! (part 4)
Hi everyone, Are you having a great day?
We are now in our part 4 of slangs.
Are you excited for the new one?
Slang of the day: Break a leg
Meaning: This slang is used when you want to express
support or if you want you cheer someone. It is basically
saying "Good luck".
Examples:
1. You`re going to pass the exam. Break a leg Kevin.
2. Break a leg Theo, I know you will have a great performance.
3. Her friend told her "Break a leg" before she went on stage.
That`s it for today everyone! Please use the previous slangs we learned
so you will understand fully how they are used.

If you are, here are some Halloween traditions that we will learn soon.
1. Carving Jack` Lantern- The term Jack o` Lantern is said to have originated from Irish folktale
about a man name "Stingy Jack". In order to keep the "Stingy Jack", ghost and and evil spirits away,
people started to carve scary faces on pumpkins and
started calling them Jack o` Lantern.
2. Spooky Costumes- This must be one of the
greatest part of Halloween. In this tradition people
compete or put a great effort in making the scariest
costumes. However, some people also prefer to stay
unique and cute and usually chooses to wear
costumes of famous Tv, or cartoon characters.
3. Trick or Treating- The most anticipated part of
Halloween but do you know why people say trick
or treat? Trick is an action one makes in order to
deceive someone while treat basically means snack.
In conclusion people say it to ask if owner of the
house wants to be pranked or not.

Hi everyone, I hope you`re doing well! We are now in our part 3 of slangs.
I hope you will be able to use it
Slang of the day: Get under one`s skin
Meaning: This slang is used to pertain to someone who made you mad or
uncomfortable.
Examples:
1. Stop teasing me. You`re really getting under my skin.
2. My little brother always gets under my skin.
3. I tried to be patient but she just kept getting under my skin.
That`s its for today everyone. Try to use the slangs you`ve learned in a sentence,
in this way you will be able to comprehend it more in depth.

Today we will take a look at some very useful idioms.
"Cut corners" - This is when someone does something the easy way instead of doing it the correct way. This usually means that they cheat at something but not always. "Hey Bill dont cut corners! Study kanji by learning the proper stroke order!"
"Break a leg" - This simply means good luck. "Hey Sandy, break a leg! Get 100 on that test!"
"Hit the sack" - This means go to sleep. "I have had a rough day I`ll hit the sack now. See you in the morning"
These idioms are useful everday phrases that will help with your understanding of casual conversation. I hope that you will make good use of them! Till next time!
