Today I would like to talk to you about English car games!
There is one popular game that can be played in the car with your children! The game does not have a name but the purpose of the game is to say the names of as many objects that fit a particular description, for example, name all the things that are white. The objective of the game is to say as many words as possible by the time you reach your destination. You cannot however name the same thing that the other players have said. It would go something like this:
Mom: Ok kids. Let`s name all the RED things that we see.
Bob and Sam: OK!
Mom: I see a red Yaris!
Bob: I see red Sneakers!
Sam: I see a red bird!
It is great way to practice English while driving. It is fun, easy and competitive! It will even make car rides more exciting! Your children can learn practice colors, grammar and common vocabulary.

Today, I`m going to share a new idiom that will help you express yourself in English
in a more native way.
Idiom of the Day: Caught red handed.
What does it mean?: This idiom is used when you discovered or caught someone doing something wrong.
It could be an illegal act or just a simple act that is supposed to be a secret.
For Example:
1. My mom saw me eating a piece of cake that was supposed to be eaten tomorrow. She caught me
red handed and I had no excuse.
2. The man denied all the accusations from the store but he was caught red handed in the
camera sneaking a piece of chocolate bar.
3. I used to steal money from my dad until he caught me red handed yesterday.
4. The guy was caught red handed yesterday while stealing the neighbors television.
5. I caught my colleague red handed today. He was taking money from the vault.

Abbreviations are shortened words or letters that replaces phrases.
For example: OMG is the abbreviation for the phrase Oh my God!
Now that we know the meaning of abbreviations here are some useful ones that you can use:

2. DOB- Date of birth
3. TBA- To be announced
4. ETA- Estimated time of arrival
5. DIY- Do it yourself
6. ID- Identification
7. ATM- Automatic teller machine
8. VIP- Very important person
9. i.e- In other words

Learning English with Characters!
Hello Everyone! I hope you`re having a fantastic week!
Today I would like to talk to you about characters!
There are many characters in fiction. Most characters that are promoted towards children are wild animals or inanimate objects such as cars. These characters are a great way to teach children English without directly having to teach them.
At amity we have a few books that feature characters such as "Peter Pig" and "Anna`s Rocket". Just from reading those names you can learn the word "Pig" from "Peter Pig" and Rocket from "Anna`s Rocket". Children will encounter these words with pictures from the books often enough that they will easily remember them.
Popular characters from Disney which are animals have animal last names such as "Micky Mouse" or "Daffy Duck". Some characters`names are simply the name of the animal such as Dreamworks "Donkey" from the Shrek series of films.
When you get the chance buy your children some character books that they can have fun reading and learn English at the same time!
