English Songs!

Hello Everyone I hope you`re having a fantastic week!

Today we will be talking about English songs!

There are many songs for children that are great for practicing grammar and pronunciation. Since they have a melody and rythm they are easier than regular sentences to remember. They also have useful vocabulary that you will encounter often.

Some good examples are:

"Head Shoulders Knees and Toes"
"Rain Rain go away"
"One little finger"
"Old Mc Donald"
"Mary Had a Little Lamb"

There are many more where those came from. It would be extremely beneficial for them to sing a song every day to practice. It is easier and more fun for them to learn English and they will remember the songs forever after they learn them.

I hope you sing these every day and perfect your english!

Till next time!

Why English Pronunciation is difficult for Japanese People

Hello Everyone! I hope you`ve had a fantastic weekend!

Today we are going to discuss pronunciation.

When we are born we have the ability to hear and mimmick a broad spectrum of sounds. This is why a baby can adopt the sounds of the parents easily and adopt it`s native language. As we grow older we lose this ability and it becomes nearly impossible to speak a second language with the correct pronunciation. This is why second language speaker always have an accent.

Japanese has 50 or so sounds in its script. The "a e i o u" and its iterations. There is also the "n" pronunciation. English has those sounds and many more that Japanese does not have. For example "the". There is no "th" sound in Japanese so it is difficult for Japanese people to pronounce words that have a "th" sound if they have not been learning English from infancy. It usually sounds like "za" or "zee" because those sounds exist in the Japanese script.

It is best to start learning a language from infancy for the best pronunciation and if one learns later on sounds that don`t exist in the language will be difficult or almost impossible to pronounce correctly.

If your pronounciation doesn`t sound like a native speakers you don`t have to worry. It is completely natural and cannot be avoided. As long as you`re understood it`s perfect!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

WOW!

Hello Everyone I hope you`ve had a fantastic weekend!

Today we will be talking about reactions and one word responses in English!

Practicing English does not have to be difficult or complicated and you don`t need to always use long sentences to express yourself. In many situations and conversations you could respond and engage with one or two word responses and reactions. Today I will share with you a few of them.

Wow! (When someone says something amazing or surprising)
Really? (When someone says something that is confusing or negativley surprising)
Oh Yeah? (When someone is telling yeah something and you want them to tell you more)
Naah (Saying no to a non-request. For requests "no thanks" is preferred)
No way! (When something you don`t believe is said)
Hell Yeah! (When you strongly agree)
I dunno (I don`t know)
A huh (A soft yes)
Sure thing (Yes)
Mmmmm (When thinking deeply)
Well...(When you are reluctant)
So...(When you want someone to finish what they are saying)
Thanks
Ofcourse/Anytime/Sure thing (Instead of you`re welcome)

There are many more and I am sure you know many of them yourself. They can take a lot of pressure off of speaking English while allowing you to start using English naturally.

I hope these words and phrases help you become better at Enlgish!
