🤓 Grammar Bits: May and Might
May and might are helping or auxiliary verbs, too.
Use may to ask if you are allowed to do something, or to give someone permission to do something.
Examples:
May I go to the toilet?
You may go now.
It is also used to talk about things that are likely to happen.
Examples:
The sky is dark so it may rain later.
I may go to Sue’s birthday party if I’m free.
Might is used as the past tense of may and if you want to convey your message strongly.
Examples:
Put your purse away or it might get stolen.
If you keep being noisy, I might get mad.
