Welcome back everyone! Today Amity will be resuming it's regular lessons.
We hope you were able to study a lot of English at home.
At Amity, we were able to have many great seminar lessons with our students.
For example, I was able to help one of my students prepare for the Eiken Interview.
I also did a fun phonics and programming seminar with another student.
We hope you can join us for our next Seminar Week in July!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
Since there are no regular lessons this week, I wanted to share some ways you can study English at home.
First, you can always watch the lesson videos on the AmityBox App.
You can use this to practice listening and speaking.
Second, you can complete exercises in your Writing drill books.
This will help improve your grammar and handwriting.
Lastly, you can work on your reading with the Phonics drill books and Amity story books.
You can study the different sounds letters make and practice by reading a book.
These are all things you can do on your own outside of Amity.
We hope you enjoy learning English at home!

No Regular Lessons This Week!
Hello everyone! I wanted to remind you that there will be no regular lessons this week at Amity.
Amity will still be open, but we will be teaching seminar lessons such as Eiken, Programming and Interactive.
These lessons are a great opportunity to work on specific goals one-on-one with the teacher.
We also offer themed seminars which make learning even more fun for our students.
There is still time to schedule lessons this week! So please call or e-mail us if you have any questions.
Regular lessons will start again on June 11th.
We look forward to seeing all of you again soon.

It Was Really Breathtaking!
This week our 2nd year middle school students are learning how to describe places they have visited.
Throughout this unit we have learned many different adjectives we can use to talk about places.
For example: breathtaking, picturesque, traditional, modest, dreary.
If someone asks the question, "Where did you go on your last vacation?" we can give a more detailed answer!
For example: "On my last vacation, I went to the Cologne Cathedral in Germany . It was really breathtaking."
Of course, we can use these adjectives to describe any place, not only the ones we have visited.
Think about your favorite place to go to and how you would describe it. Then, please tell us about it at Amity!

For Unit 2, our P4 students have been studying some very important words: on, under, and behind!
These words are prepositions, and they tell us the position of something.
For example: "The stuffed animal is under the bed."
These prepositions can be used to answer the question "Where is/are the...?"
So now we can ask a question and also answer it!
Q: "Where are the colored pencils?"
A: "The colored pencils are on the table."
These are very useful words to practice both for daily life and also for Eiken!

This week our P2 students are learning about the word "they."
To talk about 1 girl we use "she." 👩
To talk about 1 boy we use "he." 👦
But what do we use when there are 2+ people?
We use "they!" 👩👦
We also have to be careful about the verb "be."
When we talk about 1 person we say: "He/She is..."
When we talk about 2+ people we say "They are..."
We can now ask a question and give an answer!
Q: "Who are they?"
A: "They are doctors."

Do You Enjoy Playing Badminton?
This week our P6 students are learning to talk about the things they enjoy doing.
When you "enjoy" doing something it means you "like" doing it.
For example, if you like playing badminton you can say:
"I enjoy playing badminton because I think it's relaxing." 🏸
You can also use the same words to make a question!
"Do you enjoy playing badminton?"
Let's use this language pattern at Amity to learn what our friends like to do.

Where Is My Stuffed Animal? Where Are My Keys?
This week our P4 students are studying the word "where."
We use "where" to ask the location of something or someone.
For example: "Where is my stuffed animal?" or "Where is he?"
It's also important to know if the question is about 1 or 2+ things.
For 1 thing, we ask: "Where is...?" and answer: "It/He/She is..."
For 2 things, we ask: "Where are...?" and answer: "They are..."
For example:
"Where is my stuffed animal?" → "It is in the bedroom." 🧸
"Where are my keys?" → "They are in the bedroom." 🔑
You can practice this question and answer pattern when looking for things at home!

Last week our P2 students learned the difference between "he" and "she"!
In English, we use "he" for boys. 👦
For example: "I have a brother. He is 5 years old."
For girls, we use "she." 👩
For example: "My friend bought a new dress. She really likes it."
We also practiced the question: "Who is he/she?"
We can answer by saying: "He/She is..."
For example: "Who is he?" → "He is David."
This is an easy language pattern which you can practice at home and at Amity!
