In our P5 lessons this week we are working on Unit 5 Lesson 3, in this lesson we are focusing on prepositions! As this unit has been all about different location as well we asking and giving direction, this lesson is focusing on describing the locations. We are working on the following prepositions: next to, across from, behind, and in front of. These can be tricky to use and remember, so be sure to practice these phrases whenever possible!

Examples:

• Where is the police station?


• It is across from the fire station.


• Is the museum next to the train station?


• Yes, it is. / No, it isn't. It's behind the park.

今週のP5の授業では、ユニット5のレッスン3を進めています。このレッスンでは前置詞に焦点を当てています！このユニットでは様々な場所について学び、道順を尋ねたり教えたりする練習もしてきましたが、今回のレッスンでは場所の説明に重点を置いています。以下の前置詞を練習します：next to（～の隣に）、across from（～の向かい側に）、behind（～の後ろに）、in front of（～の前に）。これらの使い分けや覚え方は難しい場合があるので、機会があるたびにこれらのフレーズを練習しましょう！

In the activity, where is the movie theater?

In our P5 lessons this week we are working on Unit 5 Lesson 2. This lesson focuses on asking for and giving directions.  We learn the directional phrases "Go straight,", "Turn left," and "Turn right," as well at the locations where you turn (at the stop sign, at the cross walk, etc.)

Examples:

A: How do I get to the stationery store?

B: I'm sorry, I don't know.

A: Do you know how to get to the stationery store?

C: Yes, I do. First go straight, then turn left at the traffic light.

The vocabulary and sentence structures from this lesson are incredibly useful in English conversation, so be sure to practice them when you can!

今週のP5の授業では、ユニット5のレッスン2を学習しています。このレッスンでは、道順を尋ねたり教えたりする表現に焦点を当てています。「まっすぐ進む」「左に曲がる」「右に曲がる」といった方向指示のフレーズや、曲がる場所（停止標識で、横断歩道でなど）を学びます。

例：

A: 文房具店への行き方を教えていただけますか？

B: 申し訳ありませんが、分かりません。

A: 文房具店への行き方をご存知ですか？

C: はい、分かります。まず真っ直ぐ進み、信号で左折してください。

In the activity, where is the amusement park?

In our P4 classes this week we are starting unit 5! In lesson 1, we will be focusing on learning to use the words in, on, and under.

Examples:

• The flower is in the vase.


• The magazine is on the table.


• The photo album is under the cabinet.

Using and learning prepositions can be difficult, but they are very easy to practice at home! You can practice by describing things in your own house!

今週のP4クラスでは、第5ユニットを始めます！第1課では、「in（～の中）」「on（～の上）」「under（～の下）」という単語の使い方を重点的に学びます。

前置詞の使い方を学ぶのは難しいかもしれませんが、ご家庭で簡単に練習できます！ご自宅にあるものを説明しながら練習してみてください！

In our P3 classes this week we are back to using our normal textbooks! This week we are working on Unit 5 Lesson 1, this lesson is about the four seasons! The four seasons are as follows, spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), fall (September, October, November), winter (December, January, February). Our language pattern is fairly simple as well!

In the activity, what is the 2nd pattern on the controllers?

In this week's P3 class, we are learning about various ingredients used in cooking (such as flour, eggs, and sugar), as well as the difference between the words “much” and “many.” The simplest way to explain this difference is that words ending with the letter “s” (such as eggs and nuts) are countable, so we use “many,” while words that do not end with ‘s’ (such as flour and milk) are uncountable, so we use “much.”

Example:

“How much milk do you need?” - “I need a little more.”
“How many eggs do you need?” - “I need a few more.”

This is something you can easily practice at home! You can use common items around the house to practice using “much” and ‘many’ (e.g., “How many pencils do you have?” “How much juice do you want?”)

今週のP3の授業では、料理に使うさまざまな材料（小麦粉、卵、砂糖など）について学び、また「much」と「many」という単語の違いについても学習しています。この違いを説明する最も簡単な方法は、文字「s」で終わる単語（卵やナッツなど）は数えられるため「many」を使い、文字「s」で終わらない単語（小麦粉や牛乳など）は数えられないため「much」を使うということです。

例：

「牛乳をあとどれくらい必要ですか？」 - 「少しだけ必要です。」
「卵はあと何個必要ですか？」 - 「あと数個必要です。」

これは自宅で簡単に練習できます！家にある一般的な物を使って、「much」や「many」の使い方を練習できます（例：鉛筆はいくつありますか？ジュースはどれくらい欲しいですか？）

In our P4 lessons last week, we covered a fairly difficult concept; explaining the layout of our houses. Most students were able to remember the names of rooms with ease, the difficult part was explaining their locations within the house, so be sure to practice those phrases when you can!

This week is much easier! We are learning about simple comands like, 'be careful', 'look both ways', and 'pay attention'. Some of these are phrases the students may already hear frequently from their teacher here at Amity, so it shouldn't be too challenging!

先週のP4の授業では、比較的難しい概念を扱いました。具体的には、家の間取りを説明する内容でした。ほとんどの生徒は部屋の名前を覚えるのは簡単でしたが、家の中の位置を説明するのが難しかったようです。そのため、これらの表現を練習するようにしてください！

今週ははるかに簡単です！私たちは「気をつけて」「左右を確認して」「注意して」といった簡単な命令文を学びます。これらのうちいくつかは、アミティの先生から頻繁に聞いているフレーズかもしれませんので、それほど難しくはないでしょう！
