"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
- Lao Tzu, ancient Chinese philosopher
It means achieving your goals will only be possible if you start. Even a large goal is more approachable if you break it down into smaller ones and just get started.

Try to read the phrase below. At first, do it slowly:
Silly Sally swiftly shooed seven silly sheep.

English Idiom of the Day 💬
bite your tongue
It means to make a desperate effort to avoid saying something.
A: Your sister-in-law is coming this week, right?
B: She will. I have to bite my tongue whenever she's around. I feel like she's been watching me closely.
A: Tough time, eh? I hope you'll be fine.
In this conversation, B has to be extra careful around her sister-in-law because she feels uneasy around her.

🤔 How to...use the article "the"?
The article "the" is the most frequently used English word. Today, let's learn
how to use the article "the" in English language.
We use the definite article in front of a noun when we believe the
listener/reader knows exactly what we are referring to:
- because there is only one - I can see the moon brightly.
- because there is only one in that context - Look at the flower over there. (which means the flower I am pointing at)
- because we have already mentioned it - An old lady is crossing the street. The old lady is walking slowly.
- to refer to a system or service - I heard it on the radio.
We are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so please leave a message on our answering machine or contact us here! We will get back to you on

🤓 Grammar Bits: Am, Is, and Are
The words am, is, are are also verbs, but they are not action words. They are the simple present tense of the verb be.
Use am with the pronoun I, and is with the pronouns he, she and it. Use are with the pronouns you, we and they.
Examples:
I am Peter. I am not Paul.
She is Miss Lee. She is a teacher.
He is my father. He is a doctor. He is not a lawyer.
Fill in the blanks with am, is or are.
1. They ________ my good friends.
2. He ________ a soldier.
3. You ________ taller than Charlie.
Next time, let's study more about these "be" verbs!
