On wednesday last week, one of my P3 students "K" had to do a make up lesson with me
and her mother shared something very interesting with me.
She said that "K" told her that she wanted to be an English Teacher just like me.
It really was such a surprise for me and apparently for mom also when she told her that before.
It was the sweetest and most amazing thing I've heard! I was really touched by it.
She wanted to work at Amity and help students learn English!
What a remarkable thing! She would be such a great teacher. "K" is kind, sweet and very smart!
Dreams of the future can be scary but with the right mind set, you can achieve anything!
I am so proud of her and I hope that one day, her dream can come true!

Yesterday we officially started handing out certificates to all our students!
It still amazes me that a whole year has gone by! I am so proud of all the students,
It makes me so happy to see how excited they become when they get their certificates!
How quickly they check out how they did and try to read the comments!
I hope that everyone is proud of themselves and what they have achieved this year!
Next year is almost upon us and I know that every student will keep improving!
Congratulations everyone!

Many of our students have started writting their TOEIC Bridge tests on Sunday and the rest
will take place on the 22nd of March! Wishing all students who have written
and those who will write the best of luck! Give it maximum effort!
We know how hard the students have been preparing and I am confident they will do their best!
Learning a foreign language can be very difficult but I am very proud of how well the students
have been progressing!

To welcome in the new season, I`d like to share some interesting facts about one of Japan`s most beautiful features with all of you.
Did you know, The oldest tree in Japan is over 2,000 years old. You can find Jindai Zakura within the grounds of the Jissoji Temple in Yamanashi, with a root circumferences of 13.5m,
that`s huge!
There are over 100 different varieties of blossom in Japan, with the most popular bloom being the Somei Yoshino, which is a white flower with a hint of pink.
Cherry Blossoms are a symbol shared by Japan and Washington D.C. as a sign of peace and friendship, and it is one of the only places outside Japan that also celebrates Cherry blossom viewing.
There`s a lot more to learn too, Why don`t you share some of your favorite facts about Hanami with us too?

It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over!
Some students will be retrning, some will be leaving us,
and some will be changing courses!
It has been an interesting year, filled with many ups and downs!
I have bonded and gotten very close to a lot of my students!
I am so glad, that I will still be teaching many of them! For the new students,
I am excited! Seeing and meeting new faces always makes me happy!
For those that will be leaving, it will be sad to see them go! I have such great memories and
I will definitely miss them!
It is almost time, and we are getting ready!

This week has been very exciting for everyone, Our students are graduating, many are off to travel and experience the world, and the cherry blossoms have started to bloom.
I`ve had many exciting conversations with everyone about what they like to do during Spring Vacation, something I didn`t really get to experience last year.
I`ve learned a lot from them all too, telling me about Hanami and the festivals that happen this time of year, and I especially have learned about today, White day.
It`s not celebrated in any other country so I was very happy to have my students explain it to me, it sounds lovely!

毎週確認している、'It's a/an 色 物の名前.'

A fun game, I have started in my classes, called I bet,
seems to be quite the hit with all my Junior and Senior Highschool students!
It's a fun way to get the students to engage with eachother, using English prompts and
phrases. We bet tokens on whose card will be the highest or lowest.
Bets can even be placed on who could end up with the same cards.
Saturday was one of the best games, as one students cleared out 2 of his classmates of their coloured tokens.
It was a very funny lesson, I must say! I am happy the students are enjoying it!

This time of year so many of our students are taking the leap and going on adventures.
Yesterday marked my last lesson with on of my brightest students `H` before her trip to my home country, Australia.
All year she has workd incredibly hard building her conversation skills, she clever and funny and incredibly polite, so I know she will have no trouble handling the big, loud city she is visiting.
The last few lessons we have taken time to talk about what the country is like and she has talked about how excited she is to try the strange and interesting food we eat, I can`t wait to hear all about the adventures she has!
