Make a Schedule, Be Flexible
Use a Schedule, but be Flexible too
If you do not make a schedule to study English, it is hard to make time to do it. Without a schedule, we rarely make the time we need to study English or another language like we should. But sometimes our schedule is not perfect or we are not studying something that we should. It is very important to schedule time everyday to study a second language, but keep in mind that your schedule needs to be able to change to learn more!

Get Interested in the Culture
Learn the Cultrue, Learn the Language
It is easy to be motivated to learn a language for the purpose of passing a test or being able do tasks in the second language but often it becomes hard since we do not really understand the language on a deep level. Engaging in the culture will help you understand nuances you would not see by simply studying from a textbook. People from different cultures express themselves very differently than you do and to really communicate with them it is important to understand not WHAT they are saying, but HOW they say it as well.

Keep a Diary!
Keeping a Diary
Writing about your day is a good way to practice a second language. You get a chance to think in the second language and practice using the words you know well. It is good to use words you already know as much as possible to reinforce them. It also forces you to try and use some harder words and think about how to express yourself. It can be fun too!
