It reminds me of home in England.
When I was a child, I used to jump in puddles when it rained.
Now, I like to stay home and read books when it rains.

As the weather cools and the leaves turn into a beautiful spectrum, students feel not just the change in seasons but a change in expectations. September is considered the first month of Autumn, but so far in Yonago the summer heat is unrelenting. The relief of cool weather and fall treats will be very welcome, but for now we are keeping the air-conditioning on. May Autumn be a happy season for students and their families, too!

さて、どういう意味でしょうか。
To have a green thumb means to have a gift for growing plants and keeping them healthy. With that said, I recently bought a plant to add a bit of color into my room and to take care of; while I don’t naturally have a green thumb, I am still set on trying my best to keep my plant alive and well.

In America, the season of ghosts is definitely Autumn, and Halloween is the highlight of the season. But here in Japan, ghost stories and spooky events seem especially tied to summer instead. Is this because of Obon or the heat? Is it because the cicadas are singing so loudly and the moon is so large and orange? I am not sure, but it adds something special to summer nights. - Leah Sensei
