In one of our pre-school classes, we were practicing saying our feelings. I said "I`m sleepy," and began to pretend to fall asleep. One of the students started to laugh, and then she yelled "Wake up!" I was very impressed that she knew how to say that, and we had a good laugh about it.

This week is the beginning of the month-long book fair! Self-study materials and many others are all on sale this month. Teachers have created lists of recommendations for all the students. The teachers will gladly explain the recommendations and how they can help the students improve their English skills. Please take time to think about it. I am sure the students will be happy with new books to study with.

Before the break, I asked my students what their plans are for Golden Week vacation. A lot of them told me about so many exciting plans. Let me share some of them.

One of our students said that she will go to Wakayama to see some pandas! I have never seen real pandas before, so this plan made me really jealous! I wish I could see pandas, too.

Another student said that she and her family will go to Hokkaido. I bet, the weather is still cold there!

Lastly, one student said that she will go grape-picking! Japanese grapes are so yummy so I think this will be such a fun activity, as well.

As for me, I will take this time to rest and call my family in the Philippines. I will also play a lot of computer games and study Japanese!

１年生から３年生までの生徒さんのいるクラスでは、経験のある３年生の生徒さんたちが、低学年の生徒さんのサポートをしてくれています。
例えばワークブックでは、答えを教えるだけではなく、どうしてそうなるのか、説明もしてくれています。これまで続けて学習してきたことで、内容を理解し定着していることをとてもうれしく頼もしく思います。
学年は違ってもみんな仲良し、とても楽しいクラスです♪　　　(Y)

We hope everyone is having a good Golden Week vacation. Even though Amity is closed, you can still make time to practice English at home! Try writing a journal about what you did every day of Golden Week. Then, you can share the journal with us the next time you come to Amity! We would love to read what you all did during the break.
