What are our 4-6 year old students learning this week?

This week, our p3 (4-6 year old) students are learning to ask one another;

'What's for dinner?'

An example of one of the responses we will be practising is;

'We are having fried pork.'

We can personalise this by talking about other foods! I look forward to seeing you all this week.

March 3rd: UN World Wildlife Day

UN World Wildlife Day is celebrated today, on March 3rd 2024. World Wildlife Day is about recognising and celebrating wild animals and plants.

As stated by the World Wildlife Day organisation, we rely on wildlife and biodiversity-based resources every day to meet our needs. In order to continue to enjoy the benefits of nature, we must work together to make sure these things can still be available for future generations.

Let's appreciate the conservation work being done!

Fun Facts about New Zealand: Hāngī

The Māori Hāngī is a traditional style of cooking. It involves digging a pit in the ground and heating stones in the pit with a large fire. The food is covered and kept in baskets. It is placed on the hot rocks. Everything is covered by the earth for several hours and left to cook. Once the hāngī is cooked, the earth is removed from the top of the pit and the baskets of food are lifted out.

Nowadays, hāngī is often for special occasions. Foods cooked in a hāngī include chicken, pork, mutton, potatoes, sweet potatoes (kumara), and pumpkin. It is a great way to serve many people without the use of commercial cooking appliances.

低学年クラスの様子

今週はwant to~「~したい」の表現を低学年クラスで学習しています。

簡単なように見えて、want「ほしい」と混同してしまうことが多いので、要注意な表現です!

したいことを生徒の皆さんに聞いてみたところ、I want to play game.が1番多かったです☺
